Workforce Talent Development
INLAND EMPIRE: The Inland Empire is a region of Southern California comprised of San Bernardino and Riverside counties. The Inland Empire Economic Partnership (IEEP) is dedicated to bringing jobs, economic opportunities and improve the business climate and quality of life for residents in the region.
California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB), University of California Riverside, Chaffey College, San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, Riverside County Office of Education, Coachella Valley Economic Partnership, and Riverside Community College District together with IEEP formed a bi-county K-20 collaborative to address college and workforce readiness, and to ultimately increase baccalaureate degree attainment in the region. Through the collaborative efforts SCIEP was awarded $5 million award from the State of California. Educational leaders have come together to create a cradle-to-career collective impact model, to align the unique needs of the student populations each institution serves.
The Southern California Initiative for Education and Prosperity (SCIEP) will act as the backbone organization uniting and coordinating hundreds of leaders from multiple education, business, and civic sectors. The vision is to promote and improve education for all students, which will provide a well-trained workforce benefitting the local economy.
