The Morgan Family Foundation is a private, family foundation founded in 1993. The foundation’s goal is to see a return on its investments measured by lives changed and communities transformed. The impact of its philanthropy will be seen in young people reaching their educational goals and making responsible life choices, in natural resources protected to aid in the balance of nature and to bring enjoyment to people today and in the future, and in seeing issues thought to be intractable becoming manageable when addressed by regional stewards through collaboration.
The California Economic Summit is predicated on an audaciously simple idea: bringing together some of our state’s most creative leaders – the public, private, and civic champions who do the hard work of creating jobs and building communities in California’s diverse regions – to solve the state’s most pressing problems.
The Summit brings together champions from across California’s diverse regions – rural, urban, inland, coastal, northern, southern – to develop a shared agenda to revitalize the state. Summit actions advance triple-bottom-line solutions that simultaneously generate jobs, increase regional competitiveness, promote equality of opportunity, and improve environmental quality.
California Forward is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization working to bring government closer to the people and move the state in the right direction – forward. We believe empowered local communities are best equipped to solve their own problems, and there is a critical link between many of the problems that threaten our future and our state government, which has become ineffective, unresponsive, and unable to fix itself.
